Why we exist

Effective Accounting was founded by Nicola Sorrell, who spent years watching talented freelancers and contractors get handed to accountants who didn’t understand their world. Generic advice, missed claims, and a nagging sense that nobody was really in their corner.

So she built something different. A practice that starts with your industry, not a spreadsheet. One that speaks your language, whether that is call sheets and per diems or day rates and IR35.

Nic is ACCA qualified with more than fifteen years behind her, specialising in limited company accounting and IR35. So the warmth comes with real expertise, and the advice you get is grounded in knowing exactly how your world works.
